We take a photograph of your face so we can put you in a video. Here is everything that happens to it.

1The short version
That photograph is sent to an AI company outside the UAE to do the work, and it is deleted within 7 days. Your finished clip is deleted after 30 days. We do not sell your data, and we do not put your face in anyone else's clip.
2Who is responsible

4Your face is sensitive data, and what that means
A photograph of your face is biometric data, which UAE law treats as sensitive. We only process it because you gave explicit consent at the moment you uploaded it, for the single purpose of making your clip. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect a clip already made.
5Who else sees your data, and where
To make your clip, your photograph is sent to our AI generation provider, fal.ai (United States). This is a transfer outside the UAE. It happens on the basis of your explicit consent and a data processing agreement with that provider that applies UAE data protection standards to your photograph.
We also use:
- Stripe for card payments, which sees your payment details and never your photograph;
- Resend to send sign-in codes and notifications by email;
- Infobip for phone verification by SMS or WhatsApp;
- Hetzner (Finland) to run the service;
- Anthropic (United States) to screen uploads for children, public figures and unsafe content before a photograph is stored.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
6Training
We do not use your photographs or clips to train our own AI models, and we never sell them or share them for advertising. Our generation provider processes your photograph to make your clip under the data processing terms in clause 5; those terms allow the provider to use de-identified data, which cannot be linked back to you, to improve its service.
7Your rights
You may ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable form. You may withdraw consent, and you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
To erase everything at once, use Erase my personal data in your Wallet. It deletes your photographs and clips and unlinks your phone and email. Payment records are kept, without being linked to you, because accounting law requires it.
8Children
Starmode is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and our upload screening refuses photographs that appear to show a child. If you believe a child has used Starmode, contact us and we will delete the account.
9Security
Photographs are stored outside the public web root and are never served directly. Access is restricted, connections are encrypted, and we keep automatic records of failures. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the regulator if a breach affects you.
10Changes
If we materially change how we handle your data, we will tell you before it takes effect.
